Letter from imprisoned anarchist comrade Eric G. King (USA)

Via supportericking.wordpress.com:

Eric G. King, a 28-year-old local anarchist, was arrested and charged with an attempted firebombing of a government official’s office in Kansas City, MO. Eric allegedly threw a hammer through a window of the building and then through two lit bottles inside, though both failed to ignite.

Eric was identified as a suspect by local police because he had previously come under suspicion for anti-government and anti-police graffit. Eric is allegedly involved with the the Kansas City Fight Back insurrectionist collective.

Eric is currently being held in the Corrections Corporation of America’s Leavenworth Detention Center.

From Behind Enemy Lines: Statement by Eric G. King

10/5/14

My name is Eric. I’ve been an anarchist since about the age of 17; of course developing and maturing my views as I have grown. I am very active in the LGBQT, Earth, Animal, Antifa and other communities. I have organized Food Not Bombs, rallies against the Klan, and many others in support of human rights, anti-capitalism, animal rights, etc! I am an insurrectionist now. I believe that revolution starts in our own minds and once you are personally ready, then everyone has something they can do.

I value and support the solidarity and camaraderie received from the community now when I need it most. There is a warm feeling you get from knowing that you committed your life to something larger than yourself and getting warm wishes, kindness, and positive words which can really help someone out of a dark day. I am getting indicted this week and hopefully will be outside sooner or later. Books, stamp money, envelope money and letters would be greatly appreciated if you’re able and if not keep up the struggle. With love and support, EK (A) (///)

Statement by anarchist Antonis Stamboulos, detained in Athens police headquarters (Greece)

via contra info:

On October 1st, 2014, I was arrested, hooded and taken to an interrogation room of the antiterrorist unit. From 5pm until 1am, a bunch of hooded cops – and while I was handcuffed behind the back – took my DNA sample, fingerprints and (tried to take) my photographs by force, amid ironies, chokeholds, sprains and beatings, and threatened to electroshock me, thinking this would make me collaborate. At 1am, I saw unhooded cops for the first time, who told me that I am accused of terrorism. Until 5.30 in the morning, I remained in a 1×3 holding cell, always handcuffed behind my back. The next day they attempted to photograph me once again.

For my part, I abstained from food and water from the first moment, and demanded to speak with a lawyer. After 24 hours of detention, they eventually allowed me to notify a lawyer, and I managed to meet with her just for a few minutes before being brought to the prosecutor.

I share the above with fellow combatants as a small experience of struggle.

Whether or not the attitude of the State towards us is mild or harsh – this always depends on circumstances – it can never break us, so long as we are conscious of the responsibility that derives from our position as anarchists, in moments of adversity. Screw shivved at HMP Swaleside (UK)

via mainstream media

Two prisoners attack a screw before being thrown into isolation cells in the latest incident in HMP UK:

A prison officer had his face cut by a blade during a disturbance on Friday night involving two prisoners at a jail where inspectors had recently raised concerns over staff shortages.

The incident at HMP Swaleside, on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, began when two prisoners climbed on to netting strung between walkways designed to stop items being thrown to the ground.

A series of “small fires” were reported at about 5.30pm at the cat B prison, and Kent fire and rescue confirmed that two fire engines were dispatched to the scene. The South East Coast ambulance service was also called.

The Prison Officers’ Association said the injury to the officer was caused by a bladed instrument. Ministry of Justice officials said a prison officer was injured but insisted the incident was brought quickly under control. Continue reading “Screw shivved at HMP Swaleside (UK)”

Comrades sentenced for the double bank robbery in Velvento (Greece)

On Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, the Korydallos prison court in Athens found anarchist comrades Yannis Michailidis, Nikos Romanos, Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos and Dimitris Politis (who have claimed political responsibility for the double armed robbery in Velventos, Kozani) as well as Fivos Harisis and Argyris Ntalios (who have denied all charges) guilty of:

  • committing robbery while masked or disguised (except Dimitris Politis, who was convicted as an accessory)
  • aggravated possession of firearms (for the guns used in the double expropriation)
  • aggravated vehicle theft (for the car of the dentist-hostage used as a getaway vehicle)

Many individuals gathered in the special court room of the prison to show their solidarity with the comrades who were being sentenced.

After the counting and merging of the sentences, the terror court decided:

Yannis Michailidiss: 16 years, 4 months and 10 days
Nikos Romanos: 15 years and 10 months
Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos, Fivos Harisis, Argyris Ntalios: 15 years and 11 months
Dimitris Politis: 11 years and 5 months

All comrades were acquitted of the charge of participation in the CCF. However, there are other court cases underway that include the exact same accusation against the anarchist comrades.

Anarchist comrade Nikos Romanos was recently transferred to Korydallos prison:

Explosive solidarity with anarchist prisoners (Mexico)

via contra info:

As part of activities in solidarity with prisoners, we decided to attack those who have collaborated in the detention of several of our comrades. The espionage work carried out by the security bodies of the university in collaboration with the Mexican judicial system is all too known.

In relation to the events that occurred in the University City [UNAM’s main campus] on September 30th, 2014, we just want to say that we will not stop taking to the streets to propagate the antiauthoritarian action until our comrades walk out to the streets again and we destroy this society of exploitation in its entirety.

“Luddites” conduct solidarity sabotages in southeast Quebec / Des “Luddites” font des sabotages solidaires dans le sud du Québec (Canada)

via antidev:

‘We retransmit this message sent to us from visitors… On retransmet ce message qui nous a été envoyé par des lecteurs-rices…’

So the other night on September 21, we’ve set fire to a railroad telecomm cable linking Brigham to Sherbrooke (Qc) to the US, thinking about the Algonquins people recently evicted from a resistance camp and detained in Gatineau. We took the time to select a railway bridge in the middle of nowhere near Waterloo, so we’d not have to dig to get to the cables or attract too much attention. Some fuel was dropped through an opening in the steel casing of the cables, then set on fire. Nothing fancy. It worked better than we’d guessed, as a few seconds later it already smelled of burning rubber a few meters away. The enclosed air in the conduit apparently turned the fire into something like a blow torch. Kind of an easy game to be reproduced elsewhere by others, we told ourselves… so that’s a reason to let others know.

Of course it didn’t cause the whole techno-industrial system to collapse! Society is still pretty much functional today. But you gotta start attacking it somewhere. Though it did feel as if an important nerve deep below society had been severed. And this felt good getting off our asses in the middle of the night for this. Four anarchist comrades begin hunger strike (Mexico)

via cna mexico:

To free media
To the peoples of the world
To all those oppressed

Driven by a sense of rebellion and a declared rejection and true repudiation of all control mechanisms, including the prison system, we, anarchist and libertarian individuals, in our condition as prisoners abducted by the Mexican government, have decided to exercise one of the few tools of struggle which we can assert from inside prison: the hunger strike. From today, October 1st, a year after the arrests on October 2, 2013, 10 months of the kidnapping of Fernando Barcenas and 9 months after the detention of Amelie, Carlos and Fallon.

For us the hunger strike is not synonymous with weakness, much less do we seek to fall into a position of victimization; however, we assume it as an alternative of fighting that we consider conducive in a logic of protest and disobedience to the imprisonment of our bodies and the humiliation, isolation and frustration it means to be held in these centers of terror. We opted to take action rather than accept prison as “normal”.

The State seeks to train docile and servile citizens to maintain their established “social order” and thus be able to support the structure of capitalist production only beneficial to the ruling class. Prisons have a key role in shaping these good citizens. It is to the bourgeois society that the prison actually seeks to readjust.

After Prison Zine: Words from Former Earth & Animal Liberation Front Activists (USA)

20 pages B&W: After Prison Zine

The ‘After Prison’ zine is a project which aims to share stories of life after prison from former earth & animal liberation prisoners in the hope that people will develop a more thorough understanding of what former prisoners face on the outside. This project is also for those former prisoners still facing restrictions on who they can interact with, so they can read of others’ experiences.
