BBC – Anarchists ‘intent on bringing chaos to the streets’ (UK)

Mainstream media have recently shown a short news report concerning the recent insurrectionary attacks in the Bristol area.

Many of these actions were claimed in solidarity with imprisoned anarchist comrades around the world.

The report pathetically attempts to spread fear amongst the public by implying that anyone could be targeted by ‘extreme anarchists’ at any time, anywhere. This claim is made even though nobody has been injured in these actions, and totally ignoring the fact that all of these attacks are directed solely against the system of control and not random individuals.

It appears to be nothing more than a desperate attempt by a clueless police force to get the public to do their work for them.

We can only hope that the number of attacks shown in this video below, some of the methods described and the fact that no charges have been brought against anybody will act as a catalyst for others to realise the possibility of striking back.

Solidarity with the Cleveland 4 (USA)

The Cleveland 4 were four Occupy Cleveland activists, Brandon, Connor, Doug and Joshua “Skelly” Stafford. They were arrested on April 30th, 2012. They were accused of plotting a series of bombings, including that of an area bridge. However, the real story is that the FBI, working with an informant, created the scheme, produced the explosives, and coerced these four into participating.

Connor, Doug, and Brandon took non cooperating plea deals and plead guilty to all charges. The judge applied a “terrorist enhancement” charge to each of them, elongating their sentences as well as subjecting them to harsher prison conditions. Doug is serving 11.5 years, Brandon 9 years 9 months, and Connor 8 years 1 month.

Skelly took his case to trial. He went pro se and acted as his own lawyer. The FBI offered him a non cooperating plea deal with a 3 year sentence, if he would have plead guilty. Josh refused to plead guilty to something he wasn’t guilty of doing. He was found guilty on all counts by his jury and sentenced to 10 years. Even though Skelly had the most minimal role, he got the second longest sentence because he took his case to trial.

Doug, Brandon and Connor plead without an agreement while facing the threat of life in prison. On appeal of there sentencing they were primarily fighting against the life long probation that was handed down at sentencing. Doug also fought against being branded the leader. After months of waiting for a verdict on the appeals, we got word back. The appeal have been denied.

Due to the delay in taking his case to trial pro se, Josh’s initial direct appeal is yet to be heard.

They all continue to fight against the government’s attempt to brand them as terrorists and to expose the techniques of entrapment employed by the FBI and their informants.

After more than 2 years on bail for their part in the campaign to close Europe’s largest animal testing laboratory; Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), the SOCPA7 defendants will attend court to be sentenced on Friday 10th October.

The SOCPA7 are compassionate campaigners who were raided and arrested for holding protests against HLS. They were charged with conspiracy under special laws that were introduced to criminalise anti-vivisection campaigns.

Screw set upon by three prisoners in Lewes Prison is hospitalised (UK)

A prison officer was hospitalised after being attacked by three inmates.

The male officer, in his early 30s, was jumped by three inmates at Lewes Prison on Wednesday morning.

Sources at the prison said the officer was with a female colleague when three inmates were told they were about to be searched after acting suspiciously.

The inmates attacked the male officer, who has been working at the prison for about six years, while the female officer ran for help.

The victim was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment to facial injuries…

The attack comes after The Argus revealed how serving officers and inmates were concerned that staff shortages at the prison were sparking increased levels of violence.

Last week, an inmate said prisoners were spending longer in their cells because there wasn’t enough staff to cater for them all – fuelling inmate frustration and violent behaviour.

Update about the 3 arrested comrades accused for explosive attacks (Chile)

During the morning of September 18, 2014, several raids shook Santiago seeking to give results to the latest explosives attacks. Finally the police in a broad operation gets the arrest of 3 comrades. According to the press and the police, detention realized thanks to a investigation from the security cameras inside the subway train and a ticket-card used by the suspects.

Comrades arrested are:
Natalie Casanova Muñoz (26 years),
Juan Flores Riquelme (22 years) ,
Guillermo Durán Méndez (25 years).

When comrades were transferred to the “Jusitice Center”, they keep their heads up and Juan shouted “Down with the Police-State!”

Charges have been filed in the firebombing incident at Congressman Emanuel Cleaver’s office in Kansas City, September 11, 2014.

Eric G. King, a 28 year old local anarchist, was caught on surveillance tapes throwing two lit alcohol bottles into the office and running away.

Kansas City police initially identified King as a suspect because he previously had come under scrutiny during an investigation of anti-government graffiti on a local Bank of America building and the spray painting of Kansas City police vehicles, according to federal court records. Anti-Prison Mobilisation for the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners (Mexico)

The prison, like the police, is a fact necessary to the maintenance of social peace. It is the domination and control that allows this filthy world to be maintained. Jail means fear, uncertainty, shame, loneliness and isolation. Society trains individuals to be good citizens. My strength as an individual takes root in fear rejection could be a limit on my life. Of course, I have fear, like everybody, of many things, but my desire for freedom is larger. Fear is often built, and can be destroyed when confronted. What matters is to look beyond, to exceed the limits, boundaries, beyond the walls, mountains, rivers and oceans.

Solidarity with our imprisoned comrades must be a constant and permanent activity without waiting dates marked on the calendar. However, it is also important to carry out solidarity activities in a coordinated manner between different groups. In that sense it was convened to conduct solidarity actions from 23 to 30 August, not with the idea of centralizing solidarity, but rather to strengthen ties and collaborations internationally.

In Mexico City the call was well received among anarchist groups and individuals. Forums, events in public places, leafleting, radio transmission, an anti-prison critical-mass, placing banners.
