International call for action and solidarity with the World Cup prisoners (Brazil)

via actforfree:

On July 12, the day before the World Cup final match, the Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested 19 activists, aiming at disintegrating the big protest scheduled for the day of the final, on the grounds that they would have taken part in “violent” acts in riots last year and they would be planning other actions in the final manifestation of the World Cup. In total 23 search warrants and arrests and temporary detention were issued against people accused of participating in social movements, the mandates were 5 days of probation, four people managed to escape the police kidnapping.

The activists were taken to the City of Police in Rio de Janeiro, a large complex of police departments built to take care of the repression of the people challenging the mega-events and the logic of the market town. In this large complex is the DRCI, Bureau of Suppression of Computer crimes, which currently plays the role of the historic Precinct of Political and Social Order, the infamous DOPS created in 1924 to suppress the anarchists, mainly used during the Vargas era and later Military regime in 1964, in order to control and repress political and social movements opposed to the regime in power.

The kidnapped activists were all sent to the prison complex of Bangu. Continue reading “International call for action and solidarity with the World Cup prisoners (Brazil)”

Police arrest at least 15 in raids against anarchists (Spain)

At least 15 people were arrested during raids in Spain on December 17th for being part of an “anarchist terror organization” in what the Spanish government is calling ‪#‎OperacionPandora‬.

At quarter past five, an operation consisting of Mossos d’Esquadra mobilized to carry out an operation against the Libertario movement. So far, the Mossos have raided the Kasa de la Montanya, the Libertarian Ateneo de Sant Andreu, the Anarchist Ateneo de Poble Sec and several private homes.

On orders from the Spanish National Court, in an operation ordered by Judge Javier Gómez Bermúdez, the agents have raided the Kasa de la Muntanya, a squat which this year celebrates twenty five years of occupation. They busted the main entrance of the house to gain access while a police helicopter with spotlights hovered over the building. The twenty inhabitants of the house had to retreat into the gym whilst the police forced entry into the building. At the time of the police raid, the building had two children aged five and six years. The Mossos separated one of the kids from his father on the ground floor.

The police confiscated all mobile phones, laptops and computer devices that were found on the premises. Agents seized all types of documentation, while numerous electric home workshop tools were also confiscated in order to help the police construct their narrative.

About fifty people installed a roadblock on Travessera de Dalt, in a spontaneous act of solidarity with the Kasa de la Muntanya, until riot police dispersed them a few minutes after eight o’clock. Subsequently the solidarity group moved to the Plaza Lesseps and called for more protests.

From the outside of the house located in the neighborhood of Gràcia district Salut, witnesses heard several firecrackers and said they could see in lights of several flashlights inside the building. The police operation is made up of agents from the Information Division of the Mossos d’Esquadra, accompanied by a large number of members of the Mobile Brigade which, among other tasks, formed a perimeter around the whole area and denied any access to the home.

Vehicles burnt in solidarity with Nikos Romanos and Rémi Fraisse (UK)

abc hurricane receives and transmits:

French police have killed Rémi Fraisse while they try to rout a combative forest occupation that prevents the Sivens dam. We have burned a vehicle in the service of the French multinational GDF (who work towards the new nuclear reactor not far away at Hinkley Point on top of other nuclear projects in many countries, force dams on irreplaceable Amazonian indigenous lands with the support of Brazil’s military, provide facility management for the police force in this region, run utilities on the Shetland Islands for one of the biggest oil and gas terminals in Europe, manage multiple French prisons, and all around design technologies which attempt to disguise industrial capitalism as sustainable development for the same banks and commercial entities as always).

This was in the Long Ashton area, where we then also burned an audacious 4×4, two luxury sports cars, and a vehicle of OSC (who are considered one of the top security companies in the UK, providing guard personnel, patrols, CCTV instillation and monitoring, etc.). International Call for Revolutionary Solidarity with Anarchist Nikos Romanos on hunger strike since 10/11/14 (Greece)

via Act for Freedom Now!:

Imprisoned anarchist Nikos Romanos has been on hunger strike since Monday November 10 demanding his right to educational day release from prison. From 17th November comrade Giannis Mihailidis has also been on hunger strike in solidarity with his comrade.
Their struggle is also ours, whatever they decide we are with them as we have been from the start. From the moment of their capture the comrades have vindicated their anarchist individualities with passion and dignity throughout the ordeals reserved for them in the cesspits of the State. For us of act for freedom now every translated word, paragraph and page expresses our rage and desire to give a strong flaming hug to the comrades held hostage in the hell-holes of the state. Distance is irrelevant when we speak of solidarity. That is why we are calling, as of now, for international revolutionary solidarity for Nikos.

We will not leave any comrade alone in the hands of the state.

SOLIDARITY IS OUR WEAPON

*That night we kept our eyes fixed on the horizon and saw many falling stars drawing their own chaotic paths. And we counted them over and over, we made wishes, calculated the odds. We knew that our desire for a free life had to step over all that oppresses us, murders us, destroys us, so we dived into the void just like the shooting stars we were observing. Since then innumerable stars have fallen, perhaps it’s time for our star to fall, who knows? If we had the answers ready, we wouldn’t have become what we are, but selfish bastards who would teach people how to become rodents that eat each other as they do today. At least we still remain implacable and stubborn like the people of our kind. And those of us who closed their eyes in pain and travelled far continue to keep their eyes stuck on that night sky we also observed.
And they watch us fall, beautiful and shining stars.

Now it’s our turn.

Now, without hesitation, we fall.

As of Monday, November 10th, 2014 I begin a hunger strike without taking a step back, with anarchy forever in my heart.

Responsible for each day of hunger strike, and whatever happens from this point forward, is the prison board, namely the prosecutor Nikolaos Pimenidis, the director Charalabia Koutsomichali as well as the social work assistant.

SOLIDARITY MEANS ATTACK

PS.
To all the armchair “fighters”, professional humanists, “sensitive” intellectual and spiritual personages: good riddance to you in advance.

A new criminal case started against Mikalai Dziadok (Belarus)

via ABC Belarus:

On November 20 Mikalai Dziadok was charged with malicious disobedience to the demands of prison administration (art.411). This became known from a state lawyer, who had been called to attend the procedure. The case was started on November 13. In the near future the anarchist will be transferred to the pre-trial detention centre as a defendant.

Before that Dziadok had spent 8 days in a punishment cell, and was transferred to the solitary confinement.

The prisoner should have been set free on March 3, 2015 after 4.5 years in prison. The new case can add a year to his final sentence.

As you know, the presidential elections are to take place in autumn of 2015. Lukashenko does his best to neutralise his political opponents, especially anarchists, who fight against any power and are ready to act radically.

Nikos Romanos: Liberating Journeys of Attack (Greece)

via contrainfo:

The following text is intended to be the continuation of a dialogue on the tools of anarchist insurgency and the ways of organizing ourselves; a dialogue that was initiated at an international anarchist encounter somewhere in the countryside of France and now continues from a prison cell in Greece.

The opinions expressed here are my own personal views, so it should be clear that they promote a particular position on the issue. However it is not desired to have one position prevail over all the others; what matters is how the various different, yet complementary, points of view communicate and interact with each other. In the face of an enemy that’s very flexible as regards the use and multitude of means and forms of attack, the diversity of considerations and practices on the part of anarchists is self-evident. Whichever different perspectives cannot be promoted dogmatically but rather based on a rationale of multifaceted attack.

First we need to talk about the very concept of organization, a word quite misunderstood in anarchist circles.

We face an enemy with complex and complicated functions. One of the main characteristics that make the enemy powerful is the constant evolution and organization of the social paranoia we are experiencing today: a technological, military, architectural, civil, industrial, economic, scientific organization. Every aspect of this world is being organized, constantly correcting its imperfections through an intelligent system which has a great number of servants.
